We began running private, ultra-custom trips to Colombia in 2023. Most of our trips focus on active daily adventures in out-of-the-way places, luxury accommodations, and cultural immersion. Of course, Dan couldn't keep exploring Colombia and making new friends without coming up with his own dream trip.
This is an idea that was born 3 years ago and developed over many campfire conversations with my good Colombian friend Mateo, who runs what I like to consider the Go Wild of Colombia.
What we've been working on is about as immersive as an adventure as you can get anywhere in the world. It requires driving by 4x4 into the jungle, hiking up one of the world's oldest geologic wonders, paddling crystal clear jungle rivers, and visits to multiple Indigenous villages for warm welcomes and cultural exchange.
Perhaps the best part about it? It's beginner friendly, no paddling experience necessary- just a keen sense of adventure!
So, my next question is~ Who's in!?
What: A 12 day Colombian jungle adventure featuring trekking, flat water kayaking, birding, fishing, camping, and community stays.
Where: Rio Inírida & Mavecure Hills, Guainía Department, Colombia
When: Feb- March when the small creeks are high enough to paddle in and Rio Inírida is low enough to reveal pristine sandy beaches for camping.
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆- flat water / class I paddling, rated for remoteness
