Photography in the Wild

a digital photography workshop in wild Eastern Oregon

Hosted by Go Wild and professional nature photographer, Clay Berthelsen, Photography in the Wild is an all-inclusive weekend of photographic exploration in the great outdoors of Eastern Oregon. From Friday evening through Sunday, we feature jam-packed days practicing nature-specific photography skills in the wild. Subject matter includes but is not limited to: astro, wildlife, macro, landscape, composition, and editing.

ADVENTURE ITINERARY

Friday

Friday starts at 5PM with check-in and time to get settled. At 7PM join the whole crew for a special opening night of local hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and an opportunity to get to know your guides, photographer, and fellow adventurers. Talk shop, hang out, and settle in for two days packed with photography and outdoor pursuits.

Dinner: on your own. We'll suggest a location!

Saturday

Start your day with a presentation on photography basics to set you up for success. It's a day in the field. Follow your guides and pro photographer on a scenic drive to views, wildlife, and a hands-on crash course on nature photography. After an included lunch head back to town for a quick break (or optional historic tour and urban photography lesson) before diving into the an awesome session on astro-photography. Dump your SD card and head back out for a fun outdoor dinner and your astro-photography field session at one of the darkest places in the west.

Lunch & Dinner included.

Breakfast on your own.

Sunday

Sunday starts slightly later due to the astro-lesson, but don't expect to sleep in. Today, visit two more outstanding natural areas for topic-specific lessons and ample time to put your new tools into practice.

Party at the Winery!

End your weekend at Eastern Oregon's only winery surrounded by new friends. Enjoy a 1 on 1 lesson on editing as you sip wine, share photos, swap info, and enjoy a catered late lunch at Copperbelt Wines.
